Supported Employment Program
The Supported Employment Program secures paid employment (full time and part-time), and provides job training and support for adults with intellectual disabilities. The program helps individuals enhance their economic self-sufficiency, self-esteem, and integration into the community. Bona fide competitive employment is available as individual placements with support services by a job coach gradually fading as the individual becomes more proficient on the job. It is also available as work crews, in which a crew of up to four individuals is supervised and trained by a job coach 100% of the time. Supported employment requires work hours of no less than 20 hours a week, and can include employment of 40 hours a week, with benefits matching those of the non-disabled workers at
the job site.
